Informações:

Synopsis

“Confidence is very important for an Olympic athlete, and confidence is very important for a 10-year-old. But for a 10-year-old, as a coach, you’re probably going to be using different strategies to be building confidence.” As director in the School of Kinesiology of Queen’s University, Dr. Jean Côté’s most recent work has examined the influence of different coach-athlete relationships on athletes’ outcomes. We talk with him about the theory of transformational leadership, transformational coaching as the ‘how’ of coaching, and the outcome of sport as a function of the Four C’s: Competence, Confidence, Connection, and Character.
