Synopsis

Kirk Rogers a native of Camden New Jersey of America raised by his single motherfrom Georgia on the deep southern values and traditions. As the youngest child of 5 in aset of twin boys his mother who was not a musician always encouraged the music andarts in the home. Kirk was always involved in the music and arts in which he started outwith playing the Trombone, French horn and Alto Saxophone all before the age of 12.Kirk was also a tap dancer where he and his twin brother learned the tapping skills thatmirrored the likes of the Hines Brothers and the Nicholas Brothers in the style called“hoofing”at Sydney’s School of Dance. We were even honored to perform during ourannual recital with Lola Falana (also a Camden NJ native) in one of our choreographedtap performances. At about the age of 12 his mother arranged for piano lessons at ourlocal in Camden, New Jersey with my Godfather Floyd Riley. He was taught to play thepiano to be the musician for their local church.
