In this episode of the Dudes n Beer podcast host Christopher Jordan welcomes Bret Miller, founder of the Male Breast Cancer Coalition as well as Ron Rapaport, male breast cancer survivor and member of the Male Breast Cancer Coalition, a group dedicated to the advancement of male breast cancer awareness, testing and treatment. Why do we not hear more about male breast cancer in the news, in medical journals and even within the breast cancer movement itself?!At the age of seventeen Bret found a lump in his left breast, the year was 2003. He told Doctors “Don’t worry they said.” “These things happen, we will keep an eye on it.” Until one day, many years later, during an exam he asked specifically for the doctor to look at the lump. The doctor immediately suggested he go for a sonogram, but he didn’t think there was anything to be concerned about. The doctor who read the sonogram suggested Bret also have a mammogram.
