Episode One "From Desperation to Celebration" In this inaugural episode we are joined by Jim Blythe and Paul McQuade from the Celtic Graves Society to cover the period 1887 to 1900. We chat about the formation of the Club, the opening of the first stadium and the creation of the team. All this is set against the backdrop of the desperation of the new Irish immigrant who continued to struggle to find a place socially in the Glasgow of the 1890s. As the decade wore on, the local population in the East of the City finally had something to cheer about and be proud of. Listen to Jim and Paul explain the boardroom battles of the time that makes the 1994 takeover sound like a tea party as the Club develops the first stages of professionalism.
