    08/02/2022 Duration: 58min

The Sacramento Kings acquired Domantas Sabonis from the Indiana Pacers in exchange for Tyrese Haliburton. The full, shocking, trade that was completed between the two teams was Tyrese Haliburton, Buddy Hield, and Tristan Thompson for Domantas Sabonis, Jeremey Lamb, Justin Holiday, and a protected 2027 2nd round pick. Mark Schindler joins the show to talk about just how good of a player Sabonis is, the swap with Haliburton, what sorts of players the Kings are getting in Lamb and Holiday as well, and more. • Evaluating Sacramento’s trade assets w/ James Ham

    23/01/2022 Duration: 01h30min

James Ham, Kings Insider for The Kings Beat and ESPN 1320, joins the show to talk through the assets that Sacramento is working with as the February 10th trade deadline inches closer. We go through the Sacramento Kings level of NEED to make a change before this season at the jump, then dive into the specifics of Harrison Barnes, Buddy Hield, Marvin Bagley, and Richaun Holmes -- De"Aaron Fox and Tyrese Haliburton are also mentioned, of course, but with a bit of a different tone than the others. James and I spend time talking about the value that those players have to Sacramento and to other teams around the NBA, the importance of utilizing draft picks, the idea of McNair possibly highlighting available cap space this offseason, the options beyond Ben Simmons and Domantas Sabonis (Jerami Grant, anyone?) and more! • Portland Perspective on the Deadline w/ Danny Marang

    21/01/2022 Duration: 45min

Danny Marang, who covers the Portland Trail Blazers, joins the show as I continue to search for some additional perspective on the looming trade deadline. We talk about how the Sacramento Kings and Blazers have been heavily linked and made transactions in years passed and why they could very well do the same again before February 10th. Danny explains how Sacramento can avoid making the same mistakes with De'Aaron Fox and Tyrese Haliburton that Portland made with Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum, what their trade deadline could look like, Robert Covington and Marvin Bagley being linked recently, the availability of many on the roster, Ben Simmons, Domantas Sabonis, and more. The Sacramento Kings and Indiana Pacers have both been often mentioned as the NBA gets into trade season prior to the February 10th deadline. Mark Schindler (@MSchindlerNBA), who covers the Indiana Pacers, joins the show to give his perspective on the Pacers poor start, the talents of Myles Turner and Domantas Sabonis, Turner's comments about wanting an expanded role, and to go through some fake trades that could lead to Sacramento landing either Turner or Sabonis at this deadline. • There’s no NEED to trade De’Aaron Fox

    05/01/2022 Duration: 01h34min

I've heard a few people say that the Kings NEED to trade De'Aaron Fox this season and I really could not disagree more. I spend nearly 90 minutes explaining my thought process on why this is a bad time to move on from him. Fox has reached an All-Star despite all the ridiculous and constantly changing circumstances he's gone through since being drafted by the Sacramento Kings. Trading him right as he finally gets the best teammate of his career and someone else who can ease his offensive responsibility would be a risk. He's 24-years-old and it's hard to imagine his circumstances with the Kings getting worse than they have been. Also, you don't want to just end up in a similar situation with Haliburton where the Kings lack the talent around him to optimize him. One player does not win basketball games in the NBA, unless they are truly generational, and the Sacramento Kings FINALLY have two players with genuine All-Star potential. • A frustrating night as players returned to action

    27/12/2021 Duration: 01h09min

Alvin Gentry did not hold back from expressing his extreme disappointment and frustration after the Sacramento Kings suffered from the same issues that keep appearing all season in the second half against Memphis. From audio clips where Gentry dives into his frustration, a repeated line of everyone needs to "look in the mirror" at themselves and responded to a question focused on changing the roster. I also included notable clips from Terence Davis and De'Aaron Fox who also expressed their frustrations in different ways and dissected what I understood from the conversations. And there is a lengthy conversation about Buddy Hield that I felt was necessary... Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

  • Repeating the same mistakes + trade season primer

    14/12/2021 Duration: 01h04min

It's more of the same issue for the Sacramento Kings this season as they come back from a 3-game road trip without a single win. I gave my thoughts on those losses and shared a few of the notable postgame press conference audio clips from De'Aaron Fox and Alvin Gentry talking about Sacramento's issues throughout that stretch. In the second half of the episode, I spend time going through the handful of recent reports of potential trade candidates that have come out with the Dec. 15th deadline near. About 7 players are mentioned that I think the Kings could potentially target. hich ones are intriguing to you and what would your trade offer look like? • Notable trends through 30% of the season

    09/12/2021 Duration: 39min

The Sacramento Kings are now 5-3 since Alvin Gentry was promoted to interim head coach. The beginning of the conversation revolves around Gentry getting his first opportunity to find some rotational continuity now that he finally has a near healthy roster (wishing the best for Holmes).I went through the recent trends of Terence Davis playing well, Buddy Hield going through the worst shooting stretch of his career, Marvin Bagley making his case for a rotational spot, De'Aaron Fox's aggressiveness, and why I think Tyrese Haliburton and Harrison Barnes need to let it fly from deep. 05/12/2021 Duration: 55min

The Sacramento Kings had their first practice at home since Alvin Gentry took over this past Friday, and they displayed a handful of things that we're talked about then throughout the following game vs. the LA Clippers on Saturday. This episode included audio clips from De'Aaron Fox, Tyrese Haliburton, Richaun Holmes, Terence Davis, and interim head coach Alvin Gentry regarding what they are hoping to see moving forward and evaluating the recent games. I give my thoughts on the defensive improvements we've seen, Tyrese's improved aggressiveness, Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

    29/11/2021 Duration: 01h18min

The Sacramento Kings just played a horrific game that has them leaving Memphis will an all too familiar feeling of disappointment. Tim Maxwell joins the show to talk about what want wrong with the Kings in this game, their inexcusable effort levels, the issues with De'Aaron Fox (although they go far beyond him), almost everyone on the roster seemingly having a green light (including Alvin Gentry's comments on the high amount of 3PAs against the Grizzlies), and what change (if any) that Sacramento needs to make from here. • Alvin Gentry’s initial impact

    27/11/2021 Duration: 35min

The Sacramento Kings just won an absolute thriller in LA against the Lakers after three overtimes. That makes two in a row after a victory two nights ago against the Portland Trail Blazers and Greg joins the show to talk about what differences we have noticed since Alvin Gentry took over for Luke Walton. The rotational depth, a ridiculous emphasis on pace, his utilization of Buddy Hield, and more. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

  • Walton is gone... now what?

    22/11/2021 Duration: 41min

The Sacramento Kings have fired head coach Luke Walton and promoted Alvin Gentry as their interim in his place. I went through Walton's poor tenure, why it was the right decision to move on from him (although delayed), if I think Gentry will bring anything different, and some audio clips from Monte McNair's press conference regarding his decision. • A disappointing road trip & some parallels to Minnesota

    18/11/2021 Duration: 01h35min

The Sacramento Kings somehow managed to go 1-3 on their recent road trip that featured games against San Antonio, Oklahoma City, Detroit, and Minnesota. I spend some time talking about how it's the same issues over and over again for the Kings in these disappointing losses. Audio is included from Tristan Thompson who was brutally honest about the idea of players needing to be inspired by coaches and his thoughts on the road trip outcome. Dane Moore, who covers the Minnesota Timberwolves, then joins in the second segment to reveal just how similar the Kings and Timberwolves are when it comes to their current stages of team building, strengths & weaknesses, and their future options. • Don’t Overreact: Sacramento’s blowout loss in San Antonio could be an outlier

    11/11/2021 Duration: 01h13min

The Sacramento Kings recorded their first loss of the season that wasn't particularly close at any point in the second half. Going into San Antonio, the Kings were favored despite lacking Tyrese Haliburton, but they came out with lackluster effort and energy. Will Griffith of the Kings Herald joins the show for the first segment to talk about why it's too early to say "this is just like last year", even though it was admittedly horrible. We also dive into Fox's breakout performance, the half-court struggles on offense, our thoughts on Walton's early season, and Marvin Bagley refusing to play. For the second half of this episode, I brought on Bruno Passos (@bouncepassos), who covers the San Antonio Spurs, to give his perspective on the Spurs' best shooing night of the year as he drives home from the stadium. I pick his brain on how much of it was simply San Antonio making shots compared to the Kings failing on their end. He hilariously identifies a primary issue with Sacramento's offense after limited exposu

    09/11/2021 Duration: 01h31min

The Sacramento Kings fall to 5-6 on the year after nearly coming back from a 24 point deficit against the Phoenix Suns.
