JOHN WALKER – PHILIPS SINGLES 1966-69
13/03/2019 Duration: 39minJohn Walker’s solo career can be best described as unsuccessful considering that The Walker Brothers enjoyed such acclaim in Britain during the mid 60s. His records have various styles from orchestrated pop ballads, country and even a hint of the Carribean on his final disc in 1969. He recorded songs by Neil Diamond, Bob Dylan and Graham Nash who co-wrote “Annabella” his only hit, reaching #24 in 1967. “Sunny” / “Come Rain Or Come Shine” (Philips BE 125970) 1966 “Annabella” / “You Don’t Understand Me” (Philips BF 1593) 1967 “If I Promise” / “I See Love In You” (Philips BF 1612) 1967 “Kentucky Woman” / “I Cried All The Way Home” (Philips BF 1676) 1968 “I’ll Be Your Baby Tonight” / “Open The Door Homer” (Philips BF 1655) 1968 “Woman” / “A Dream” (Philips BF 1724) 1968 “Yesterday’s Sunshine” / “Little One” (Philips BF 1758) 1969

THE TROGGS – PAGE ONE SINGLES 1967
13/03/2019 Duration: 19minThe Troggs released four singles in 1967, excluding “My Lady” (Page One POF 022) which was hastily withdrawn. Some copies reached the market but I don’t have one. They rounded off the year with a top five hit, hidden on the B-Side of this romantic love ballad is a mind-bending psychedelic nugget written by Ronnie Bond. Indeed, when will the rain come. “Give It To Me” / “You’re Lying” (Page One POF 015) 1967 “Night Of The Long Grass” / “Girl In Black” (Page One POF 022) 1967 “Hi Hi Hazel” / “As I Ride By” (Page One POF 030) 1967 “Love Is All Around” / “When Will The Rain Come” (Page One POF 040) 1967

BOBBY DARIN – ATLANTIC SINGLES 1966-67
13/03/2019 Duration: 22minBobby Darin’s singles during 1966-67 period were of a very high standard and his choice of material may surprise many listeners more used to his earlier recordings. He laid down numbers by Tim Hardin, John Sebastian and Gordon/Bonner. His own songs “I Am” and “Amy” hidden away on B-sides are worthy too. “If I Were A Carpenter” / “Rainin'” (Atlantic 584051) 1966 “Reason To Believe” / “The Girl That Stood Beside Me” (Atlantic 584063) 1966 “Lovin’ You” / “Amy” (Atlantic 584079) 1967 “The Lady Came From Baltimore” / “I Am” (Atlantic A2395) 1967 “At The Crossroads” / “She Knows” (Atlantic 584147) 1967
