As we are quickly approaching the Thanksgiving and winter breaks, we dedicated this episode to reviewing a number of items to put on your calendar so you can be sure not to miss them. Additionally, we would like to congratulate the high school boys' soccer team for winning the CIF Southern Section International League Championship for the first time in school history! On this week's episode Dr. Edward Jones was in the studio to speak about his role as a physician trained in infectious diseases and his views through the pandemic, along with some thinking about the future regarding COVID-19. He breaks down the process that led him to pursue the work he is now doing in the field and the experiences he had along the way in Angola and other regions of the world. Additionally, the LILA Lions high school boys' soccer team won their division this Thursday, which was a first in the history of the school! Welcome to episode 5 of the La Voix du LILA - Burbank podcast! Our special guest this week is Cinzia Angelini who is an artist, animator, director and writer. She joins us to speak about her film MILA(https://milafilm.com/) which has been a labor of love that has spanned 10 years to complete. The film has been accepted to many festivals around the world and received incredible recognition. She not only speaks about the film and her inspiration but also what it takes to become an animator in this competitive industry. Lincoln, Ms. Harvey, and Mr. Mondange also recap the important items from this week's Mosaïque and highlight some considerations about the drop-off and pickup times, travel during break, and the upcoming school photos. Welcome to our 4th episode of the year for La Voix du LILA - Burbank! Our guest for this week's podcast is new to the LILA community and our Burbank campus. Mr. Sobol, LILA's athletics manager, joins us to discuss the programs he is attempting to implement for the students this year and how he works to build on his philosophy of participation as key to student wellness. Mr. Sobol also announced some breaking news about additions to our training facility and sport teams. As the US took time last weekend to reflect on the 20th anniversary of the attacks of 9/11, Lincoln used the interview portion of this week's podcast to explore with Dr. Lehr and Mr. Mondange their personal experience of what it was like for them as they witnessed that day. Dr. Lehr's interview is not to be missed; his first-hand account of that day while living in NYC as a graduate student and his thoughts on how this event has changed how we live and its connection to other historical events is very interesting. Later in the podcast Lincoln and Mr. Mondange review a number of items from Mosaïque, as well as a number of activities and initiatives all students and families should be aware of for this school year. Welcome to the second episode of the school year. Lincoln, Ms. Harvey, and Mr. Mondange discussed many of the after-school activities and athletics programs that are now being offered at the Burbank campus. Be sure to sign up before it's too late. The soccer season is underway, with a first game on Friday, September 10. Best of luck to the team! Ms. Harvey and Mr. Mondange spoke about the weekly COVID-19 testing process and reminded everyone to stay home if you are not feeling well. With only two more weeks of school left, the excitement is building for summer break and we are beginning to wind down La Voix du LILA - Burbank. For this week's episode we are excited to have our college counselor, Barbara Kuhl, on the program to speak to the amazing diversity of colleges and universities, both in the United States and internationally, our seniors will be attending next year and answer questions on what students might want to consider as they prepare for their future. Ms. Harvey and Mr. Mondange shared updates on graduation, final testing, conseil de classe, and prom. Lastly, for those listeners who have been following along all year, there is a special contest a local business is running as a supporter of the program, which you will not want to miss. Welcome to Episode 31 of the La Voix du LILA - Burbank podcast. On this week's episode, Lincoln welcomed Jessica who is a 9th grade student and the leader for the campus Gender and Sexuality Alliance (GSA) group. Jessica joined the show to help educate us on ways LILA community members can be allies for the LGBTQ+ community, and to share components of the meetings they've had during the school year. Mr. Mondange and Ms. Harvey wrap up the show with a few announcements from Mosaïque (no school on Monday!), reminders to view Art Walk online, and notes about the final weeks remaining in the school year. Welcome to episode 30 of this year's La Voix du LILA - Burbank podcast. This week's interview is not to be missed as Mr. Faizal Emamaullee reviews the unique components of the academic programs offered here at LILA, from the French baccalauréat, including the option internationale du baccalauréat (OIB), to the International Baccalaureate (IB). "What is the difference and why might I choose one over the other" is often a question students and parents have about these programs, and Mr. E introduces the benefits as well the type of student who might be suited for each of the programs offered. For those who don't know, Mr. E is also the head of the LILA Burbank running club. He spoke a little about his hopes for the program next year and the benefits of running for athletes. Lincoln, Ms. Harvey, and Mr. Mondange also take time to provide a few updates on the launch of the Art Walk happening this Friday, May 21, the soccer team, and the upcoming conseils de classe. On this week's show, our newly-elected Minister of Ecological Affairs (MEA) aka the Green Czar Lucie L. joins us to speak about issues related to the environment, the upcoming Earth Day, and involvement with the Sunrise Movement. Lincoln and Ms. Harvey wrap up the podcast discussing the upcoming mock brevet testing, Burbank Earth Week, the night of cinema all families will be able to enjoy, as well as Mr. Maniska's presentation. Welcome to episode 26 of the La Voix du LILA - Burbank podcast. This week we were joined by Angela Campbell, IB science teacher and advisor to the science club. Ms. Campbell shared with us how her passion for science started as a 5th grader and a science fair and carried her through Stanford University and a career path as an educator. Ms. Campbell has taught in public and private schools, as well as Albania, and is looking to help grow the science club here at LILA. Burbank students are invited to join the next science club meeting on Monday, April 12 at lunchtime. Lincoln, Ms. Harvey, and Mr. Mondange reviewed notes for the upcoming break and gave a reminder to quarantine if you travel out of state, as well as to complete daily health screenings. They also highlighted the NCAA Final Four!

Welcome to Episode 25 of the La Voix du LILA - Burbank podcast, and a special welcome back to school for many more of our students. In this episode Lincoln, Ms. Harvey, and Mr. Mondange share more details about the back-to-school process as well as continuing the remote parallel learning option through the end of the school year, with upgrades to technology, bandwidth, and a special device called the "OWL" that allows for a 360 in-room experience. Additional subjects covered include student and faculty/staff well-being, Egyptian Theatre programming, the upcoming break in April, and, for those who intend to travel, the importance of adhering to quarantine before returning to school in person. Her perseverance paid off and now as a graduate she continues to utilize the same persistence to find a position with a global marketing agency. Caitlin speaks about the skills she learned at LILA and how they served her well in college, along with the differences between campus life at both schools.
