  • Shore Services - Beach Tips With Shore Beach Service And A Little Slow Motion Running

    21/02/2017 Duration: 37min

The weather is going to start warming up soon, and that means that our beaches are going to fill up. At this point in the year, whether you live in the snowy North or are a Hilton Head native, we're all ready to head back to the beach. So, in the spirit of inching us a little bit closer to that summer sun, we've invited Mike Wagner of Shore Services to join our conversation. Mike offers us some great tips on how to enjoy the beach safely, and how to not get in to too much trouble. We talk about everything from bringing your pet dog (or monkey) to making smores to jellyfish stings to running in slow motion. We realize minisodes are supposed to be shorter, but this conversation was so great we didn't want you to miss a thing. So, grab some sunscreen, give it a listen, comment below, send Mandy an email (mandy@hiltonheadislandcast.com), and don't forget to subscribe and review!

Jevon plays with LowCountry Boil, Silicone Sister, Unicorn Meat, Shakey Bones, Jo Jo Squirrell and more, and in his own words he has “waited a long time to be a big fish in a really small pond”. Many years ago, on Dove Street , in the North Forest Beach area of Hilton Head a family began to decorate their home with lights to celebrate the birth of a child around the holidays. Then the neighbors joined in…and soon, Hilton Head had its own tastefully tacky light display that drew locals and visitors alike, year after year, to see the lights. This event has become very charitable, with multiple benefactors. Ultimately outgrowing the tiny street, the display was moved to the Shelter Cove Towne Centre where it resides today. Mandy got the opportunity to chat with those involved in this wonderful local tradition, speaking with Roni Allbritton, the General Manager of the Shelter Cove Towne Centre and with Denise Spencer, who is the President and CEO of the Community Foundation of the Lowcountry, a beneficiary of the event.
