Synopsis

Episodes

  • Episode 6: Doug Warner

    02/05/2016

Live Via Satellite! The guys welcome their hometown friend Doug Warner to CTQ! Douggy boy, an avid collector, recounts the adrenaline rush of scamming Circuit City for Criterion Collection DVDs, the underrated comedic greatness of Seth Rogan’s “The Interview” and why he feels the “Spoof Movie” genre died with Leslie Nielson. DOUG’S QUEUE FINALISTS: “The Starving Games” (2013), “Don’t Stop Believin’: Everyman’s Journey” (2012), “Life Itself” (2014).

  • Episode 5: Queue and A (a.k.a. The Legend Of Steve Dave’s Gold)

    25/04/2016

Queues go uncleared for a week as long time buddy Stephen Davis stops by to demand a referendum on the term "box out," while also helping the guys discuss a wide range of listener feedback from the past few episodes - including some fuzzy banana-centric math and an impassioned defense of "Citizen Kane" that may very well make Matty longingly cry "Rosebud." PLUS: Because no one demanded it! Alex drops his "definitive" ranking of the top 10 movie subtitles of all time.

  • Episode 4: Dan Riley

    18/04/2016

This week the CTQ guys boldly mount an expedition through the frozen tundra of our friend Dan Riley's queue that would make Werner Herzog blush. As Dan explains his overstuffed queue of nature documentaries and beats the drum for the ecological importance of bees, Alex sings a few bars of the wrong Faith Hill song. In the end, everybody wins except for the good citizens of Staten Island, NY, who are left pondering the question: "Does drool equal guilt?" PLUS: A surprise appearance by Geraldo Rivera!

  • Episode Three: Alex Popkin

    11/04/2016

The tables are turned in this very special "origin story" episode! Co-host Alex gets a cathartic dose of the CTQ elixir and talks living with narcolepsy, explains the difference between "You Me and Dupree" and "Marley and Me" and finally stares down two of his biggest queue offenders. Who will blink first? (spoiler: it's not Alex)

  • Episode Two: Izzy Maxwell

    04/04/2016

In this episode of CTQ, it's "unfinished business" as the guys resuscitate Izzy's old Netflix queue. Izzy talks about his undying love for The Simpsons and subversive animated TV, why Kung Fu movies make great dinner companions, and recounts how a delightfully random trip to Whole Foods led him to see Django Unchained.

  • Episode One: Susan-Kate Heaney

    27/03/2016

In premiere episode of Clearing the Queue! First up, the guys summon their queue-hoarder friend Sue-Kate. S.K. talks about her problems crying in movie theaters, defends classic black and white movies, and maintains Leo DiCaprio was robbed for "What's Eating Gilbert Grape" even though she's never seen it.
