3 Friends And A Movie

Do you like horror tropes? How about witty commentary? You're in luck! Even Nicki, who isn't the biggest fan of horror films, found this film thoroughly enjoyable. And not *just* because she loves Alan Tudyk. But it certainly didn't hurt. Also, gore. Lots of gore.

This movie is just not good at all. The plot is super confusing, the setting is difficult to ascertain, and there are literally ninjas dressed in stereotypical ninja garb that come from nowhere. The ninjas in this film make the Snyder's clan in "3 Ninjas" look like a top tier regime. Shredder would suddenly be proud of his foot clan if he had to deal with the ninjas from American Ninja 2 for just 23 seconds. Luckily the film is saved by Side Curtis Kick Jackson. The blackest, baddest, son of a bitch that ever stood beside his brother in the art of Mortal Kombat. All in all this is perfect fodder for the not only 3 Friends and a Movie, but the "Just the Sequels" series as well!

This movie has the titular heroes feeling like an afterthought as this film clearly only exists because Hulk Hogan lost a bet to Loni Anderson, with Ernest a.k.a. Jim Varney tasked as witness. Seriously, the only return character from the first three films is Grandpa, and you know that's just because he became accustomed to a certain standard of living after the monetary windfall that was the first three "3 Ninjas" films #Addiction #BeanieBabiesWereStillAThing You guys, Mike doesn't even like this movie and he likes everything, if the cereal commercials are to be believed. He even said that we should say we're sorry to our listeners... so very VERY sorry!

The deeper we go into this franchise, the more I become convinced that these movies were systematically designed to stick in Nicki's craw... Let me give you a for instance, about seven minutes into the film three grown men harass and physically abuse an eleven year old girl in a crowded pizza parlor and literally not a single adult does a damn thing about it... but it does have a joke that has stuck with Devon for his entire like so I think that balances the scales?

Part two of the four part examination has Devon in a bit of a tizzy, since he can't believe he not only saw this film in theaters, but even after how bad it was he still happily rented the third one. That's right it's time for Devon to become disillusioned with the series, luckily guest Jeremiah is able to help keep the ship on course.

Your stock is huge following the sequel to a film that made you an action hero. Who cares about all the problems with the film about the burning mirrors, you're America's favorite put upon everyman! You want to make your opusabout a cat burglar who gets caught up in a conspiracy that reaches back through history all the way to the Renaissance? Sure! You also think that video games might be something worth looking into and want a tie-in on the NES?Of course! Sit back and join the Friends on a Coach as they watch the outcome of this trifecta brought to you by Tristar pictures... And remember if you get bored that it's only twelve and a half listens to "Freebird" long!

Jack Weston reprises his role from "Dirty Dancing" as the villain in "Short Circuit 2." Fisher Stevens reprises a brown-face role, because we didn't have any Indian actors in the US a the time(?) Rejoin the action with the newly named Johnny 5 in a large city of indiscriminate origin! This time, it's for profit! "Los Locos kick your balls into OUTER SPACE! So hold onto your butts as we wade into the fourth installment of "Just The Sequels"

It's exactly like the first "Mad Max" (right down to the stilted sidekick being named Goose) only with Bicycle Motor Cross instead of cars and a young Nicole Kidman instead of a young Mel Gibson... Oh it's also Wario's film debut!

Continuing in the grand tradition of "Just the Sequels" Our third excursion has us hunker down and watch Wayne's World 2 so you don't have to... but seriously you guys... you don't have to.

Who is your favoriteCare Bear? Mine is Brain Baby, his stomach logo was kind of freaky, but he was so erudite that I was able to overlook it. He was sort of like the Frasier of Care Bear, but Frasier from "Cheers," not Frasier from "Frasier" that guy was sort of a prick. Numero Dos in "Just The Sequels"

With guest: Dayle Decker The first episode in our series known as "Just The Sequels" brings up the still unanswered question: Why is it that the sequel always seems to be set in New York?

Did you know that Devon Decker used to play hockey?! If not then you will after listening to this... our first episode where we watch and make fun of or just plain talk over a movie!!!! We watch the seminal trapped in a tunnel film featuring everyone's favorite Italian Stallion (bum, Bum, BUM!) Viggo Mortensen As an added bonus the first hour or so is a crossover with our sister podcast 2 Friends on a Couch, so you can finally see what all the fuss is about... you know if somehow you've only listened to us make fun of movies

We're joined by guest Jeremiah as we watch a proto version of "Love Actually" Come to think of it I don't know why Nicki was complaining about never getting to pick the movie. Because I sure as shit didn't pick "Playing By Heart" and neither did Mike... It's got Ryan Phillippe in it though so it's got that going for it... which is nice

In preparation for Fury Road we sat down and watched the only Mad Max film Nicki and Devon had never seen. The results will surprise you... (Hint: One of the friends doesn't like this film at all.) Luckily the night was saved by judicious rooting for Mad Max's Helicopter flying sidekick Chopter Copter!

In this, our final installment of April Showers Bring Swayze Hours, we go right for the figurative jugular with-- Dirty Dancing. Nicki has the time of her life, and she owes it all to Scoo. (That's somebody's nickname for Mike.) Anyways, have a listen and enjoy! Oh, yeah, and Devon has an afterthought.

In this episode featuring guest Dayle Decker, we find ourselves watching a lot more than talking, but that's fine because its still a Patrick Swayze film and its just so delightful. Seriously, this is one of those films you should just watch, pithy remarks be damned!
