Dima Studitsky is in the DJ game from the mid 90-s and can be named as one of the best DJs in Moscow. In autumn 2011 his remix for Jazzanova «I Can See» came out on a well-known Berlin-based label Sonar Kollektiv, receiving support from the likes of François Kevorkian, Tokyo Black Star and Rainer Trueby. In 2012 more remixes followed, among which was the epic rework of «Lovery» from the Spanish duo Tucillo & Kiko Navarro on King Street Sounds and a remix for «Welcome To Our World» by Rainer Trueby on the cult label from Munich Compost Records. Moreover Dima Studitsky is a member of an folk-jazz project called «The First Sun» («Pervoye Solnce» in Russian) together with Vladimir Goloukhov with whom they released two studio albums. Episode 85 by Mana Island Mana Island is a project of constant evolving. Seeking for some inspiration amongst completely different music styles, the band passed an exam to its own unique and cheeky sound. You listen and you always know what it is. Started with an upbeat bright indie single "Beauty Spot", got all the bass throughout the “Borderline”, the band has already been known for sleek, languid songs from 2014 EP "Lono". The dubious term “indie R&B” has already been projected on the band by various magazines and blogs. With this music Mana Island was chosen by FOALS to join band on their Russian tour in Moscow and St.Perersburg. New Single "Stare" is an attempt to leverage between prominent tenacious guitars and vibey, soul-driven sound. Working on its debut yet-to-be-named album, Mana Island grasps for a familliar 00's MTV-style pop.
