This week’s Local Selection Mix comes from Belfast born, Berlin based talent AOIFE. Fresh off the back of a debut in Tresor, AOIFE has supplied a 90 minute thriller full of twists and turns from groove, loops, bloops, EBM and slamming techno. DJ, event promoter, international publicist and label manager- AOIFE has confirmed her own place in Europe’s dance music community. The Belfast born, Berlin based talent has firmly integrated herself amongst a variety of parties, starting a residency with Germany’s Ravescape and having regular appearances with UK party starters Ape-X. Thump Techno have dropped their first release as a various artists compilation. Comprising of 6 stellar artists that include ARON SC, EXIX, FUAM, Genex, Flores and TYRÄXX, with all proceeds going towards the Dublin Simon Community to help tackle the homelessness crisis in Dublin, Ireland. Thump Techno have announced that they are now branching into a label. Their vision will remain the same with the label as it has with events, where they seek to showcase hard and heavy techno music. This debut label release has been curated by Thump co-founder, DECADANCE. DECADANCE highlighted his wish to exhibit artists that inspire Thump creatively who they have had the pleasure of growing closer to on a personal level. The overall release will feature an array of pummelling kick drums and dark atmospheres throughout. The fast rising techno producer has been making a name for himself with his dance floor orientated techno sound that is carved for peak time DJ manipulation and distinctly inspired by the sounds of the early 00’s. Hurdslenk has been making his presence known within techno circles as of late, as the relatively new name has recently released on Blackaxon, NCLS, Frenzy and more. The budding producer has recently released a 3 track EP which is focussed on the textured side of minimal techno, as MEJMI finds solace in off kilter rhythms, funky sequences and alien soundscapes. Galway based MEJMI is originally trained in classical music, but she has been making a name for herself recently as she’s moved her musical prowess into a the darker territories of minimalistic techno.
