  • "Mindfield" VFC and DOJM Joint Service with Pastors Denny & Jamie

    29/10/2023 Duration: 52min

Your mind is like a minefield. You are in a battle. In this message, Pastor Denny Blake of Disciples of Jesus Ministries and Pastor Jamie Nunnally of Victory Fellowship Church share how you can win the battle of your mind. Your thoughts direct your actions. We need to think about what we think about. We don't need to have anxious thoughts about our future. Everything is going to be alright. Your victory is in Jesus Christ. We are more than conquerors. We are in a battle with a defeated foe. We need to inspect our thoughts. Just because you have a thought doesn't mean it is for you or from you. Tell yourself what God says. Dig into His word to know His will. "It doesn't matter who is saying it, if it is contrary to God's voice, it's wrong." - Denny Blake "If you do things God's ways, you get God's results." - Jamie Nunnally"I've never seen in the Bible where someone said "Yes" to God and they weren't blessed." -Denny BlakeGate

  • Meligion, Part 8: MEvival // Jamie Nunnally

    22/10/2023 Duration: 42min

What is revival?Revival a rediscovery of the purpose, presence and power of God when our faith has grown cold. Revival is a turning back to God after a period of being numb, lukewarm, or unenthusiastic in our faith. Revival is when you fall back in love with Jesus, all over again - like it was the first time. When you read the book of Acts, you may recognize that what happens during "revival" - salvations, healings, deliverance, rededication - is actually just "normal" Christian, kingdom life. Why do we need revival? Both coffee and churches grow cold if you simply do nothing. The church has a history of God sending revivals, great awakenings, and moves of God that "warm us up." What brings revival? The personal revival of a few usually precedes the corporate revival of many. In other words, God often uses a handful of people as a spark to ignite a flame in others.John 6:35"Jesus replied, "I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever beli

  • MEligion, Part 7: MEdeeming the Time // Eric Robertson

    15/10/2023 Duration: 43min

Do you feel the weight of your past mistakes? Does thinking about the future make you anxious? In this message, Pastor Eric Robertson explains how we can "redeem the time."Ephesians 5:15-16 " See that you walk circumspectly [carefully], not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil."- MEdeeming the time is fixating on the future. We are addicted to the future. Because by our own design, we are never living in the moment we are living for. We connect our happiness to a moment that never comes. The gospel gives us hope for the future and hope for now. Matthew 6:31-34""So don't worry about these things, saying, 'What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?' These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. So don't worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own w

  • MEligion, Part 6: MEvenge // Jamie Nunnally

    08/10/2023 Duration: 46min

What is MEvenge? MEvenge is ungodly revenge. It's hurting those who have hurt you. In this message, Pastor Jamie Nunnally shares how to handle the desire for revenge.  Revenge is not the same thing as self-defense.It is a good thing to stop someone from hurting you.Luke 4:28-30 Acts 9:24-25 Revenge is not the same thing as justice.Justice is stopping someone from hurting someone else.Isaiah 1:17 MEvenge thrives on the idea that if someone hurt you, "don't get mad, get even." But think about it. Why would you want to be even with, and on the same level as, someone that hurts others? Jesus teaches us a better way than MEvenge. There is a Godly revenge when you let the Lord be your defender. Romans 12:17-21 Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. 18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. 19 Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to av

  • MEligion, Part 5: MEpentance // Chance Holt

    01/10/2023 Duration: 45min

Repentance is not the same as MEpentance. In this message, Chance Holt explains the foundation of repentance on which we need to build our faith.  Jesus came to establish the kingdom of God. Worldly culture vs kingdom of God.Matthew 6:33 True wealth comes from seeking the kingdom of God and his righteousness. Culture says repentance is a sign of weakness. The ways of the kingdom of God are opposite to the ways of worldly culture.  True wealth comes from seeking out the kingdom of God and His righteousness.  Fear based repentance is repentance focused on ourselves.  Repentance is not just emotional remorse and regret. Repentance is Godly sorrow that leads to salvation and leaves no regret.  Mark 6:12-13Repent and then people were healed.  Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death.2 Cor 7:10 Hebrews 6:1. Repentance is the elementary side of being a Christian.  Repentance is a prerequisite (foundation) to your relationship with the Lord.  Repenta

  • MEligion, Part 4: MEdemption

    24/09/2023 Duration: 38min

To redeem something is to gain possession of it in exchange for payment. The Bible says that Jesus redeemed us – He has gained possession of us, and the payment was His blood.Hebrews 9:12 “With his own blood—not the blood of goats and calves—he entered the Most Holy Place once for all time and secured our redemption forever.”MEdemption is when you try to pay your own way. The problem is, you don’t have the right kind of currency, and you don’t have enough currency to redeem yourself. The transaction is complete and you have your receipt—God wrote it down in His word, and its just as the scriptures said. If you or anyone else doubts that the purchase has been made, look at the receipt.Have you received the pardon God has granted, or are you still sitting in the prison of sin, guilt, shame, pride, and self-righteousness? Are you trying to pay for your own MEdemption?

  • Meligion, Part 3: The MEattitudes // Jamie Nunnally

    17/09/2023 Duration: 46min

Jesus taught the "Beatitudes," but what are some of the ME-attitudes that make us MEligious? In this message, Pastor Jamie Nunnally shares about the worldly thinking that opposes Jesus' teaching on living in the Kingdom. Matthew chapters 5-7 contain Jesus' famous sermon often called "The Sermon on the Mount." The sermon starts in verses 3 through 10 with 8 statements that all begin with the phrase "blessed are ________."Over time, these statements were called The Beatitudes from the Latin word for "blessed." 1. Beatitude: Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. The "poor in spirit" are those who recognize that their need for God.  MEattitude: I am blessed when I don't need anyone else's help.Galatians 5:25God will be your crisis manager, but he would rather be your daily planner. 2. Beatitude: Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. MEattitude: I am blessed when I never experience loss, grief, or

  • MEligion, Part 2: Worshipping MEsus // Jamie Nunnally

    10/09/2023 Duration: 35min

MEligion is when your faith is all about you. In this message, Pastor Jamie Nunnally shares how to ensure that you are not worshipping MEsus. When we engage in MEligion, we are worshipping MEsus. MEligion is idolatry. What is idolatry? An idol is anything or anyone we allow to take the place of God in our lives.Exodus 20:3 First commandment: You shall have no other gods before me or beside me.God doesn't want to be one of many, He wants to be your one and only. Worship is Attention, Affection, and Action."A person will worship something, have no doubt about that. We may think our tribute is paid in secret in the dark recesses of our hearts, but it will come out. That which dominates our imaginations and our thoughts will determine our lives, and our character. Therefore, it behooves us to be careful what we worship, for what we are worshipping, we are becoming."― Ralph Waldo Emerson (19th Century American Philosopher) How do we defeat idolatry?Engage your blades! Cut down those things in your li

  • Meligion, Part 1: Don't Be Meligious // Jamie Nunnally

    03/09/2023 Duration: 33min

What is Meligion? In this message, Pastor Jamie Nunnally explains that meligion is when your faith is all about you.James 1:27 ESVChristians are called to be Christ-centered not self-centered. God came to save you, but part of that is saving you from you.  4 Symptoms of being Meligious:1. Your spiritual disciplines only benefit you.Spiritual disciplines are the intentional activities we do to grow in our faith. Right thingsdone the wrong way become wrong things.Acts 2:42 They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. NLTThe invitation to follow Christ is an invitation into community because other people have been invited, too. 2. You make a big deal out of other people's sin instead of your own.1 Timothy 1:15 "Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst." NIVAn inflated view of yourself leads to a deflated view of your sin. Matthew 7:3-5 &quo

  • Elephants 2023, Part 4: Toxic Masculinity and Feminism // Jamie Nunnally

    27/08/2023 Duration: 39min

These politically charged words exist in our culture because the church has not taught biblical manhood and biblical womanhood, and that's my goal for today. It depends on who you ask, but toxic masculinity is the collection of negativestereotypical behaviors associated with men. What the world calls toxic, the Bible calls sin. Its not masculinity that's toxic, its sin that's toxic—whether the sin is done by a man or a woman. "Feminism" means all sorts of different things depending on who you ask. Originally, it was the idea that women are equal to men; that they have the same value as men—which is a Biblical concept. But today, feminism is often understood as seeking, not equality, but equity among men and women. In addition to political division, and racial division, class warfare and economic division, we have division between the sexes. Our spiritual enemy is the devil—in Greek, diabolos literally means "the accuser." If the devil can get us to join him in his accusation

  • Elephants 2023, Part 3: Entertainment // Jamie Nunnally

    20/08/2023 Duration: 44min

Should a Christian consume the same entertainment that everyone else does? How do we know what's appropriate and what's not? In this message, Pastor Jamie Nunnally shares truths and advice to help us make wise entertainment choices. Two Biblical truths to consider:1. Your intake will determine your outcome.Proverbs 4:23Who you are right now is the sum total of your physical, emotional and spiritual intake.Don't like how you feel? Feed your heart different food. The key to changing what you're full of is to change what you feed on. 2. Christians live differently than the world.Titus 2:12 "And we are instructed to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures. We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God"Christians should affect culture, not reflect culture. We are called to walk differently, and if you're not different, you're probably not walking in your calling. Music is supernatural.2 Kings 3:151 Samuel 16:232 Chronicles 5:13-14If

  • Elephants 2023, Part 2: Gossip // Jamie Nunnally

    13/08/2023 Duration: 43min

What is gossip? Gossip is sharing information about someone else's life which thoughtlessly or maliciously spreads rumors or reveals private facts. It's gossip whether it's true or not, and it's gossip whether it's intentional or not. In this message, Pastor Jamie Nunnally shares how to recognize and avoid the sin of gossip.  How do I know if its gossip?1. Is it positive and public information?2. Would you say it to their face?3. Would you want it said about you?4. Did you ask the person you're telling not to share it?You don't have to say everything you think, and you don't have to have an opinion oneverything people do. The effects of gossiping are incredibly divisive and destructive.1) Gossip hurts the victim. Proverbs 16:282) Gossip hurts the listener. Prov. 18:8 Gossip affects your soul like cake, cookies and ice cream affect your body.3) Gossip hurts the speaker. Prov. 13:3 4) Gossip hurts the church. Prov. 12:18The church exists to bring healing to the world arou

  • Elephants 2023, Part 1: Women in Ministry // Jamie Nunnally

    06/08/2023 Duration: 55min

Women in ministry is not an easy topic. Thousands of books have been written on the subject. In this message, Lead Pastor Jamie Nunnally gives a Biblical defense of why our church ordains women and allows them to preach. Three things you should know:1.  Men and women equally bear the image of God (Genesis 1:27) and are equal heirs of salvation in Christ (Galatians 3:28).2.  In Ancient Greek, the word for man and husband are the same, and woman and wife are the same. 3.  The Bible is written from a patriarchal perspective, because it was written in a patriarchal culture. Old TestamentMiriam – prophet (Exodus 15:20) Deborah – church government/administration (Judges 4-5) Huldah – teacher/prophet (2 Kings 22:11-20) These were exceptions – almost all leadership was male. No female priests—the highest ranking spiritual position in Israel. New TestamentAnna – prophet (Luke 2:36)Phoebe – deacon and "ruler." (Romans 16:1-2)Junia – apostle (Romans 16:7)Priscilla – teacher (Acts 18:24-26)Nympha – house church
