Another example of our Year 6 podcasts enjoy....

Year 6 at Cefn Fforest have been having a fortnightly after school podcasting club with Mr Harrington. This is one of their short podcasts recorded and edited using Audacity - converting to mp3 and saving to server - all done by the pupils themselves - Well done gang. Let the podcasts begin...

This video podcast shows and explains some of the things that we have been up to over the past few weeks.

On Wednesday 6th December at 9.30 am (UK time) - 10.30pm (NZ time) we sat down as a class to have a chat with Allanah King in New Zealand. The skype link worked perfectly and we were easily able to hear each other. We spent 25 minutes quizzing Miss on New Zealand and her school - it was great fun for us, we hope that it wasn't too stressful the other end!!! We learnt a great deal about the country of New Zealand and its many sheep, in addition to learning more about Appleby School. This coming week on Tuesday evening for us (Wednesday morning in the other side of the World) we are planning to talk directly to our pen pals as they begin their school day - how cool is that. It will certainly be the chance for us to catch up with all of the news from both classes and both countries. Both classes are really looking forward to it - so watch this space...

This week a great group of Year 6 pupils came to an after-school club to be introduced to Audacity and within the hour they had produced these podcasts. Many thanks to DJ Liam, Tom, Jessica and DJ Cammy!!! I think that we have found some brilliant new DJ's for our 'All New' Cefn Fforest FM Podcasts.

As part of our senses poetry topic this week we produced some colour poems - here are a selection for your enjoyment. The children particularly wanted to pass on their appreciation to Mr H from Texas, after listening to his most recent podcast.

This week we have been working on The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark, Crystal wrote a well crafted Playscript from the story which you can hear performed by Crystal and friends. Luke talks about his favourite book, and Chantelle tells us about her busy week of Gymnastics, Dance and Swimming. We round off with some more of our favourite jokes. We hope that you enjoy our work.

This short podcast was made following a short circle time discussion in our classroom on the first day of the new school year.

Message for Mr Raftos @ Yidarra Catholic Primary ... and others... re our proposed link between Wales and Australia. I hope that this will be a very easy way for our respective pupils to communicate. Dylan is our soft toy travel buddy whi visits our link school ( Dylan is a Dragon or course - well he does come from Wales !!! )
