  • Episode 209- Love Actually (2003)

    31/12/2018 Duration: 01h27s

You know, we consider ourselves professionals here in the horror game. We take our job seriously and that means sometimes looking into the belly of the beast: the most grotesque of the grotesque, things that will keep you awake at night. With that in mind, we're kicking off Season 5 with what may be the ultimate horror film. It's 2003's "Love Actually."  We've never done another rom-com, so instead just go listen to the episode we did on the rom-dram (?) "Days of Thunder." It's Episode 76, labeled "???? (1989)." • Episode 206- Carrie (1976)

    10/12/2018 Duration: 47min

After a few weeks of the horror equivalent of junk food (except like, not even good junk food like Doritos, bad junk food like pizza with hot dogs in the crust), we decided to detox with a beautiful horror classic: the 1976 Brian DePalma/Stephen King film "Carrie." Special topics for your consideration include: god's little punishments, concern about John Travolta's basic abilities, the magic of Piper Laurie, prom talk/tuxedo talk and sultry Jesus.  Can't get enough DePalma? • Episode 204- The Item (1999)

    26/11/2018 Duration: 56min

Boy oh boy. In this week's post-holiday haze, we get festively tipsy and discuss one of the worst movies we've ever seen: the 1999 debacle "The Item." This was a listener suggestion from SkyrimRunner and we assume that they hate us. It's free on Youtube... if you dare. Special topics for your consideration include: things for which we are thankful, lots of discussion about 90s culture having nothing to do with this movie, covering topics we have most definitely covered before, pulling no punches about the quality of "The Item" and answering the question on everyone's mind: what's up with Xzibit?? Do you like truly garbage films? The only comparable one I can think of is Episode 156- "Gingerdead Man" so instead, listen to some of our more eccentric films: Episode 25- "The Pit," Episode 35- "Neon Maniacs," Episode 84- "Demons" or Episode 120- "Psychomania."  And we've still got merch! • Episode 202- Halloween: Resurrection (2002)

    12/11/2018 Duration: 52min

You know what they say about being in a hole? When you find yourself there, keep digging until you find another hole with worse acting and less plausible storylines. And that's what we did. Following up on last week's foray into the weird later additions to the "Halloween" franchise, we're talking about the 2002 film "Halloween: Resurrection." Special topics for your consideration include: the academic and romantic careers of a bunko Jon Snow, destroying the world vis a vis Daylight Savings Time, criminally under-using Tyra Banks, whether ad-libbing qualifies as Dangertainment and parsing reality television. We haven't talked about many reality show-based horror movies (sidenote: are there any good reality show-based horror movies? Let us know!) so I guess just listen to some of my favorites: Episode 104- "I Know Who Killed Me," Episode 108- "The Wicker Man" (remake) and just for fun, Episode 6- "Alucarda."   Have you seen this one? What did you think? Let us know your thoughts at facebook.com/werewolfambulan

This week we're talking about the 1998 installment in the franchise, "Halloween H20." Hoo boy. Special topics for your consideration include: Josh Hartnett, Josh Hartnett's hair, LL Cool J, LL Cool J's luminous skin, the looks of the 90s, a lack of teen murder, what life in your mid-30s is supposed to look like and a brand new nickname for Katie.
